Description
Test Method and Procedures
● Test Method:
Non-Invasive Prenatal Paternity Test(NIPPT) includes sequencing and analyzing the fetus cell-free DNA in maternal peripheral blood to obtain fetal genetic information, and comparison with the genetic DNA profiles of the alleged father to determine the Parent-Child relationship. NIPPT adopts high-throughput sequencing technology and detects massive sites to ensure the accuracy of the result.
In the tests performed by Vangenes, we detects 13000 SNP sites.
CPI (Combined Paternity Index)
— The criteria to determine Parent-Child Relationship
● Positive (Supportive): When CPI is greater than 10000, it supports the assumption that the tested man (or woman) is the biological father (or mother) of the child. For example, if CPI=3.4*1050 in a test result, it supports that the tested man is the biological father of the child.
● Negative (Unsupportive): When CPI is less than 0.0001, it supports the assumption that the tested man (or woman) is not the biological father (or mother) of the child. For example, If CPI=3.4*10-50 in a test result, it is not supported that the tested man is the biological father of the child.
